Marvin Musselwhite has been an attorney with Poyner Spruill or its predecessor firm for more than forty-five years. He served Wake County as a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, and from that experience, built the foundation of the firm’s governmental affairs and lobbying practice. He has extensive experience in state government affairs. Marvin has also been a leader in many cultural, civic, and economic development institutions throughout the Raleigh area and the State. Organizations such as the North Carolina Citizens for Business and Industry (NCCBI), now known as the State Chamber, the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, the North Carolina Symphony, and the former Raleigh Arts Council have all benefited from Marvin’s work as a board member or chair on their behalf. Marvin has also been regularly ranked among the state’s most effective lobbyists, and continues to represent major clients with legislative and state government matters.

Firm Management Responsibilities

In 1986, when the Poyner Geraghty Hartsfield and Townsend firm of Raleigh merged with the Spruill and Spruill firm of Rocky Mount, Marvin was one of the original managing partners of the combined Poyner Spruill law firm.
