Poyner Spruill LLP is pleased to announce partner Chalk Broughton has been appointed chair of the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization’s Estate Planning and Probate Law Specialty Committee. He served on this specialty committee for the past four years before being appointed to this position.
The Estate Planning and Probate Law Specialty Committee oversees the certification and recertification of North Carolina lawyers as specialists in those areas of law. This includes administration of the annual exam that an applicant must pass to earn certification from the North Carolina State Bar.
The Board of Legal Specialization recently honored Broughton for 25 years as a board certified specialist in the areas of estate planning and probate law.
A partner in Poyner Spruill’s Southern Pines and Raleigh offices, Broughton advises individuals, families, and owners of closely held businesses on all aspects of estate and tax planning matters. He also has substantial experience in the settlement and administration of decedents’ estates and trusts of varying sizes and complexity.
