Poyner Spruill Welcomes Education Law Practice Group

CHARLOTTE, N.C.—Poyner Spruill LLP is pleased to announce Tara Bright has joined the firm as an Associate in the litigation group.

Tara represents businesses, corporations, governmental entities, and individuals in a variety of litigation matters and commercial disputes. Tara has extensive experience in conducting pre-trial litigation, alternative dispute resolution, jury trials, and in advising clients of tailored and strategic litigation plans.

Prior to joining Poyner Spruill, Bright worked for the New York City Law Department, Office of the Corporation Counsel, where she defended the City of New York, its agencies and municipal employees against civil lawsuits, including negligence claims, premises liability actions, and allegations of constitutional violations as against law enforcement agencies. Subsequently, Tara joined the private sector where she represented clients in contractual disputes, Labor Law actions, and personal injury matters.

“We are excited to add Tara to our litigation group. She brings not only a wealth of knowledge, but extensive experience defending municipal entities and corporate clients,” Poyner Spruill managing partner Dan Cahill said. “Tara has proven leadership skills and will be a great asset to our firm.”

Bright earned her Juris Doctor degree from Syracuse University College of Law and her Bachelor of Science from East Carolina University.
