On Thursday, September 21, the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce celebrated Poyner Spruill LLP’s Managing Partner Dan Cahill for his achievements as Chair of the Board.
Cahill was installed as Chair of the Board during last year’s Raleigh Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting. Cahill, along with other members of the Board, organized many impactful events, projects, and programs, including:
- Raleigh Chamber’s first Sustainability Conference with Michael Regan, Administrator for the Environmental Protection Agency.
- The 2023 Regional Skills Analysis, which collected nearly 1,000 responses to better understand the current and future hiring needs of businesses to build a talent pipeline that ensures the region’s vitality.
- Work in the Triangle, a regional talent attraction initiative focused on attracting and retaining top talent, won an Award of Excellence for Communications.
- The Chamber Foundation was awarded a grant from the City of Raleigh and Capitol Broadcasting Company to create the BRT Business Resource Collaborative and its website WAKEBRT.com. This project, led by the Chamber Foundation, provides resources to businesses along the New Bern Ave corridor during the first phase of construction.
- Raleigh Chamber hosted two Emerging Leaders Cohorts with 40 participants and two Leadership Raleigh classes with 103 graduates.
- Raleigh Chamber’s 10th annual Women’s Leadership Conference had record breaking attendance of 1,100 people.
- The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity Conference was Raleigh Chamber’s largest conference with over 1,400 people registered.
- Raleigh Chamber programming, like Coffee with Leaders, Business After Hours, the Black and Hispanic Business Momentum series, and Networking 101, supported more than 275 small businesses.
- Over 175 people traveled to Denver, Colorado for a successful Inter-City Visit and Leadership Conference.
“I am grateful to have had a wonderful year as Raleigh Chamber’s Chair of the Board,” said Cahill. “ It was inspiring to work alongside the 2022-23 Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Together, we have generated incredible momentum for businesses and the region, and I look forward to seeing how the Raleigh Chamber continues to develop future leaders in the greater Raleigh area.”
Cahill is a member of Poyner Spruill’s Litigation Section, focusing his practice on complex commercial disputes, representing banks and financial institutions in all types of litigation, including lender liability claims. He devotes a portion of his practice to serving as a mediator and providing professional liability defense for lawyers and architects. In addition to serving as Poyner Spruill’s Managing Partner, Cahill also acts as the firm’s assistant general counsel and loss prevention partner.
