Poyner Spruill LLP partner Deborah Sperati has been elected to the Board of Directors for the Carolinas Gateway Partnership. The public-private industrial recruitment agency helps foster economic development in the area by assisting companies seeking growth, expansion, or relocation opportunities.
Sperati, based in the firm’s Rocky Mount office, is very involved in the local community. She is the co-owner and founder of Koi Pond Brewing Company and received the Woody Brown Award for Volunteerism from the Rocky Mount Area Chamber of Commerce.
As a member of the Board, Sperati will help shape the future of Edgecombe County and Rocky Mount.
Sperati’s legal practice focuses on creditors’ rights, civil and commercial litigation, and bankruptcy. She also leads the firm’s brewery, winery, and distillery practice, and serves as the Chair of the USLAW Network’s Women’s Connection.
