Poyner Spruill Welcomes Education Law Practice Group

Poyner Spruill LLP is pleased to announce the firm has been recognized in the BTI Upmarket Movers list.

Each year, the BTI Consulting Group recognizes law firms with a market presence that is expanding more rapidly than client expectations are evolving. Poyner Spruill is included along with 42 other law firms. This list is more select than last year’s, with 54 law firms, which signifies the increased challenge to move up the market in 2024.

The Poyner Spruill Litigation team regularly appears on behalf of clients in North Carolina state and federal trial and appellate courts.  In recent years, Poyner Spruill’s Litigation Section has handled matters that include achieving a no-liability result in defense of a lawsuit in the North Carolina Business Court seeking more than $150 million related to a series of real-estate transactions, obtaining a $114 million settlement in litigation on behalf of a minority shareholder in the North Carolina Business Court, obtaining a significant settlement in a federal antitrust lawsuit on behalf of a statewide group of healthcare professionals, obtaining a multimillion-dollar settlement for a corporate plaintiff in an intellectual property dispute with Garden & Gun Magazine, and representing the North Carolina Department of Revenue in a groundbreaking case before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Poyner Spruill’s Litigation attorneys have extensive experience representing individuals, local businesses, national and international corporations, professionals, and financial institutions in all kinds of litigation that can impact a business, such as consumer class actions, trademark, trade dress, and copyright infringement litigation, disputes between buyers and sellers of businesses, disputes among owners of businesses, disputes involving banking, securities and accounting issues, the defense of class actions, real estate disputes, employment disputes, and environmental, zoning, and land use issues.
