Poyner Spruill is pleased to announce attorney Nia Doaks was appointed to Read and Feed’s Board of Directors in September 2021. Nia is one of three new board members. The board is comprised of professional and community leaders who bring their expertise, passion, and perspective to the organization’s leadership. The board will play a key role in shaping strategy for Read and Feed for the next three years.
Nia Doaks is a graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law. She received her MBA from Wake Forest University School of Business. She brings her passion for learning and advocacy to the firm’s Employment Law section. Nia advises clients on federal and state employment law matters and represents clients in proceedings before various administrative agencies and courts. Additionally, Nia assists with immigration needs and counsels on related questions.

Founded in 2007, Read and Feed aims to bridge the reading gap by providing children with the resources they need to learn in a safe, welcoming, and fun environment. Working with Wake County schools, teachers, and social workers, Read and Feed identifies children in grades K – 5 who struggle to reach reading benchmarks and live in underserved neighborhoods. With a cadre of over 700 volunteers, Read and Feed annually serves over 630 students at 24 program sites, provides 13,000+ meals, and distributes 39,000+ books.
