North Carolina firm Poyner Spruill LLP announced the addition of a Raleigh-based, nine-person group from boutique firm Schwartz & Shaw PLLC focused on the various aspects of education law, including school budgets, property acquisition, and COVID-19 regulations.
The education law group, consisting of partners Katie Cornetto, Rachel Hitch, Brian Shaw, and Brandon McPherson along with four associates and one of counsel, fully joined Poyner Spruill on Monday after three of the attorneys came aboard last month.
Cornetto told Law360 on Wednesday that she and the rest of the education law team chose Poyner Spruill because they were looking for a platform to support their growth aspirations.
