Poyner Spruill LLP Managing Partner Dan Cahill received the distinguished honor of being recognized as a Managing Partner to Watch by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly. This inaugural list highlights 19 managing partners at 18 firms across the state.
During his time as Managing Partner, Cahill has achieved numerous accomplishments, including but not limited to:
- Thoughtfully overseeing the firm and its employees and maintaining morale while navigating the COVID-19 crisis
- Continuously preparing the firm for the future, as evidenced by Cahill’s foresight to transition to a cloud-based system prior to pandemic-related office shutdowns
- Implementing Poyner Spruill’s five-year strategic plan that emphasized growth, diversity, exceptional client service, and a stronger firm culture
- Prioritizing open communication by actively listening to others’ ideas and developing enhanced strategies to support firm employees
In addition to managing his considerable duties as Managing Partner, Cahill continues to strive for positive results for clients, to advise the firm on all aspects of risk management, and to generate new clients and grow the firm’s scope of work for existing clients. He also remains extremely active in the community, serving on the Advisory Board for Note in the Pocket, and the Board of Directors for The Green Chair Project and the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, where he is the Immediate Past Chair.
“I am honored to be included on the Managing Partners to Watch list alongside such incredible leaders at other firms,” said Cahill. “It is truly a privilege to serve as Poyner Spruill’s Managing Partner, and I am privileged to lead a firm comprised of devoted, talented, and accomplished professionals.”
A member of the firm’s Litigation Section, Cahill focuses his practice on complex commercial disputes. He represents banks and financial institutions in state and federal court and guides clients through alternative dispute resolution as a Certified Mediator. Cahill also provides professional liability defense for lawyers and architects. As well as serving as Poyner Spruill’s Managing Partner, Cahill acts as the firm’s assistant general counsel and loss prevention partner.
