Poyner Spruill Welcomes Education Law Practice Group

Poyner Spruill attorney Deborah E. Sperati was featured in a new American Bar Association book about women attorneys across the country who have demonstrated success in marketing.

Sperati is one of several attorneys who contributed creative tactics and advice to the book “Marketing Success: How Did She Do That? Women Lawyers Show You How to Move Beyond Tips to Implementation.”

The book details how Sperati and Poyner Spruill used custom software to better serve clients, particularly during the foreclosure crisis several years ago.

“In developing and marketing our firm’s custom foreclosure software,” Deborah said, the “most important thing was providing constant training and resources.” She said the upfront cost and commitment were significant, but it allowed the firm to manage a large volume of work and demonstrated their commitment to serving clients with increased efficiency and effectiveness.

Sperati and four other North Carolina attorneys who contributed to the book spoke on a panel at a “Meet the Author” webinar conducted by the N.C. Bar Association on September 24, 2015. More details are available on the bar association web site.

The book is available from the ABA’s online bookstore.

Sperati practices in creditors’ rights, civil and commercial litigation and bankruptcy. She also leads the firm’s Brewery, Winery and Distillery Practice. She earned her JD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1999 and a bachelor’s degree from UNC in 1996.
