Poyner Spruill partner Named Fellow of Leadership Council on Legal Diversity

RALEIGH, N.C., March 14, 2017 – Saad Gul, a Poyner Spruill partner whose practice focuses on appellate law, regulatory litigation, and privacy issues, has been named a 2017 Fellow at the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity.

“It’s an honor to help build a better and more diverse legal profession,” said Gul. “A more diverse legal profession opens doors to all Americans, draws upon the strengths of all Americans and helps protect the liberties and rights of all Americans. The Leadership Council on Legal Diversity is making important progress toward the goal of building a better and more diverse profession. I’m delighted to be part of this effort.”

He is one of 255 Fellows selected this year, and one of only three attorneys chosen for the program from North Carolina.

The Council seeks to foster a diverse legal profession. The Fellows program identifies high-potential attorneys from diverse backgrounds, helps them build relationships across the legal field and provides leadership training.

During their fellowship, each Fellow attends in-person conferences, receives additional training in legal practice, participates in projects with other Fellows and has extensive contact with Council leadership.

The Leadership Council on Legal Diversity is made up of more than 265 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners. The organization, founded in 2009, has a range of programs to nurture leadership in attorneys starting in law school and then extending to high-potential attorneys throughout their careers.
